Persistence of Chaos is not a painting, neither old original book of any great writer. It is old, outdated Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook (2008), Windows XP SP3, This laptop cannot be used for any purpose. Then why it was sold for $ 1.3 million?

I googled for the reason but could not find an answer. Why an old laptop with so many diseases (Malware) will sell for so much. But still it was a piece of news for days and online auction fetched $1.3 million.

But it is a powerful symbol of the threat in the internet world. This simple laptop is the symbol of damages it can cause by way of malware it has.  This laptop is loaded with four worms and two Trojan.It was created by Guo O Dong, an internet artist (what art?). This laptop has not done any damage to the internet world. But these six malware have caused at least US$95 billion in damage around the world,

This so-called, artwork has the following , most dangerous four worms  and two trojans , all malware , for which we always search for solutions to get rid off. It is Airgapped.

What is Air Gapped Computer?

Air gapping is a security measure to ensure that a computer network is physically isolated from unsecured networks like the internet and local area is not directly connected to the internet, nor is it connected to any other system that is connected to the internet. The Sobig worm is considered one of the most destructive worms of its time, It has also set records in spreading ability, including the number of emails sent with itself attached. This piece of malware could copy files, email itself to others, and could damage computer software/hardware. This piece of malware caused $37.1B in damages and affected hundreds of thousands of PCs.


WannaCry ransomware, extremely virulent crypto-worm, made it possible to wreak havoc on computers around the world, infecting more than 200,000 systems in over 150 countries and holding the infected machines ransom for $300 a pop. Mere weeks later, Petya/NotPetya ransomware used a worm to spread within local networks.

5. DarkTequila

Dark Tequila, aTrojan, is a complex malicious campaign targeting Latin American users, with the primary purpose of stealing financial information, as well as login credentials to popular websites that range from code versioning repositories to public file storage accounts and domain registrars.
DarkTequila stole bank credentials and corporate data even while offline. DarkTequila costed millions in damages across many users.


BlackEnergy is a Trojan that is used to conduct DDoS attacks, cyber espionage, and information destruction attacks. It uses sophisticated rootkit/process-injection techniques, robust encryption, and a modular architecture known as a “dropper”. BlackEnergy was used in a cyber attack that prompted a large-scale blackout in Ukraine in December 2015.
